Adequacy of Anesthesia (AoA) concept

GE HealthCare proudly works to develop our own line of innovative patient-monitoring solutions or to integrate proven technologies to help drive uncompromised patient care and a more productive clinical workflow. Our goal is to empower facilities with advanced neurological measurements, data analytics, and connectivity solutions to help you achieve better clinical outcomes.

Neurological monitoring
Anesthesia delivery is a critical part of healthcare delivery
AoA consists of various unique parameters that provide continuous measurements to help you assess a patient’s response to inhaled and intravenous hypnotics as well as NMBAs during general anesthesia.
Entropy
By monitoring the state of the brain activity through electroencephalograph (EEG) and frontal electromyograph (FEMG) signals, clinicians can measure the the effect of certain anesthetic agents on the brain instead of "the depth of anesthesia or lack of consciousness." Objective measurements of response entropy (RE) and state entropy (SE) can be helpful in guiding a clinician in administration and titration of anesthetic drugs.

Adequacy of anesthesia
The Adequacy of Anesthesia concept is designed to give clinicians tools to objectively measure the components required for general anesthesia. These tools support the monitoring of cortical and subcortical components, helping clinicians individualize anesthesia delivery to the patient.

Neuromuscular transmission
Neuromuscular transmission (NMT) is the transfer of an impulse between a nerve and a muscle in the neuromuscular junction. GE HealthCare’s E-NMT Module provides quantitative, automatic measurement of muscle response to stimuli.
